Perched overlooking the bay and bluff, Horseshoe House integrates modern design with the charm of a character residence.

An addition to an original stone home, the two-storey pitched roof addition captures sweeping views and brings light and volume to the coastal location. Exterior materiality creates at once a sympathetic and varied façade. Combining textured cladding with finely detailed steel and timberwork, new forms are deliberately contrasting the heavy nature of the existing dwelling. Utilising a carefully crafted frame for breathtaking views, the upper floor offers expansive windows and thoughtfully positioned smaller openings invite the outside in, creating a constant dialogue between the coastal landscape and life within the home.

Exposed rafters internally create an open and inviting space, drawing natural light into living zones and breathing a new life into the property. Soft greens dominate the colour palette, creating a tranquil and inviting atmosphere. The centrally located kitchen features a green stone island, providing a visual anchor amidst the light-toned surroundings. Light timber veneer and steel elements echo the coastal aesthetic, forming a seamless connection between indoors and the natural beauty outdoors.

Horseshoe House crafts a timeless legacy, breathing new life into a family home for generations to come.
